THE Longton Players have captured infamous highway man Dick Turpin for a brand new production.
The new pantomime is the Longton Players' 30th annual pantomime.
Set in rural northern England, the colourful play tells the tale of loveable rogue Turpin and his friend Billy Bumpkins, as they set out to clear their names of any wrong-doing.
But if Dick and Billy aren't planning to rob Lotaloot Hall, then who is?
The pair join up with Dame Dollop and Daisy the Cow, and the team set about escaping from the incompetent clutches of policemen Nick and Nab.
Along the way Dick and Billy try to win the hearts of Lord Lotaloot's beautiful daughter Caroline, and the curvaceous Katie Cuddlesome.
The hilarious pantomime is suitable for all ages, and the supporting cast are mainly local children.
Dick Turpin is perfect to wash away the winter blues, and will have everybody rolling in the aisles.
And the backstage crew have worked very hard to create fantastic sets and costumes which bring the production to life.
The play comes to Longton Village Hall, Liverpool Old Road, Longton, on Friday, January 25, and Saturday, January 26, then on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2.
Tickets are £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for children and senior citizens. Telephone 613500 or visit Longton Church Hall between 10am and noon on Saturdays for details.
