COUNTY Councillor Ruth Henig, Lancashire County Council's cabinet member for Cross Cutting Issues, has been re-appointed by the Government to the European Committee of the Regions for a four-year term of office.
A distinguished academic, she has been a county councillor for over 20 years and was awarded the CBE in 2000.
She is currently Chair of the Lancashire Police Authority and within that role has been involved in a number of Home Office initiatives, including serving on the Lawrence Steering Group and the Crime Reduction Task Force.
