COUNCILLOR Ashley Whalley should be sacked. His attitude towards the recent chaos and ineptitude on the Darwen Street and Bolton Road roadworks in Blackburn and the minimal gritting carried out on our roads during the snow and ice is a disgrace.
Recently, his office stated that they could not predict the weather.
But the ice and snow were around long enough for his department to make headway on non-trunk road routes.
Our council taxes increased by more than twice the rate of inflation this year and services have again decreased.
Perhaps Coun Whalley could for once accept responsibility and make one decent decision, that is to step down.
PAUL McGURTY, Wharfdale Close, Feniscowles, Blackburn.
