INACTIVITY usually spells trouble for most teams but for the NWCL Division Two leaders Stand Athletic it has proved a Godsend.
Two postponements, last weekend and on Tuesday, have seen Stand kicking their heels but manager Nick Davis is not too perturbed.
"Normally you wouldn't be too happy with games being off but for us it has worked out fine,: said Davis.
"Had we played in midweek I would have been putting out a reserve side as we had five down with flu.
"But we can now look to the home game with Daisy Hill heading back to a much happier situation.
"We have got three definitely fit and well and the other two are possibles, so for once it has actually worked in our favour."
Leading the table by 12 points it is hard to perceive Stand being caught but Davis still has an eye on what is going on in the chasing pack, and keeping his players focused.
"I still think that Squires Gate and Alsager can compete and while we are looking okay we have to stay on the ball," said Davis.
"But we have to ensure that we keep ticking over the way we have been, because if anyone looks like caching us then I'm in trouble."
