MEMBERS of the public will be given advice on protecting their property during a two-week crime prevention campaign at Colne Market Hall.
It will kick off on Monday led by new community beat officer, PC Phil Davies.
A display providing the public with tips on how to keep themselves and their property safe and secure will be in the glass foyer of Colne Market Hall.
Free booklets, property marking pens and security engraving will also be available at the stand most afternoons and all day Saturday and shoppers will also be able to take advantage of a free house survey by Blakey's locksmiths.
The campaign is a joint scheme between Colne Police, Blakey's, Barnes of Barrowford, which will provide the engraving service, and Outline Print, which is supplying the free UV property marker pens.
PC Davies said: "The police play a vital role in preventing and detecting crime but we can't do it on our own which is why we are encouraging the public to take on board crime prevention advice.
"Simple things like making sure windows and doors are secure and valuables are postcoded or engraved and kept out of site can make a big difference in the fight against crime."
