FYLDE residents are being invited to inject their ideas on future health care at a special seminar.
Along with GPs, nurses and other health professionals, local people are invited to an evening seminar and workshop on January 30 at the Clifton Arms Hotel, Lytham, from 6-8.30pm to discuss the results of unique research commissioned by the Fylde Primary Care Group.
Researcher Howard Seymour said: "The study revealed a large number of people in the Fylde are missing out on many years of life.
"It also reveals the debilitating impact of disease on their lives."
Howard believes the Fylde Primary Care Group should now be able to target resources to help people maximise their potential.
The group would like to hear from local people about how they think preventable ill health should be tackled and how quality of life locally can be improved in any of seven areas -- mental health and depression, the care of the elderly, hearing loss, drugs and alcohol, suicide, accidents and injuries and cancer.
Chief executive of the Fylde Primary Care Trust Mike Bulloch said: "We really hope many people will take the opportunity to help us take the findings of the research forward.
"This is a very real chance to have their say in how health care in the area is developed in the future."
