THE supporters' group for Bold Venture Park enjoyed a well attended meeting and the group is now concentrating on ways to improve the maintenance of the park.
The group was set up in October last year to try to deter gangs of youths from drinking in the park and vandalising it.
Coun Dave Smith of Sunnyhurst ward said that incidents of vandalism had declined in the last couple of weeks and the group was now concentrating on ways to maintain the park.
They are hoping to meet up with park staff to discuss a maintenance schedule.
Coun Smith said members had been pleased to see that police had been patrolling the park and the group was now applying for grants.
A new fence is to be put up and vegetation is to be cut back. Coun Smith added that it had been a 'very positive 'meeting.
The supporters' group's next meeting will be at Holy Trinity School, Bank Top, Darwen, on February 21 at 7.30pm.
