RAIL passengers faced a second day of frustrating strikes today after commuters spent much of yesterday struggling to get to and from work.
Arriva Trains Northern suspended its normal timetable again as conductors in the RMT Union continued to strike for higher pay.
The Transpennine Express service from Blackpool to Scarborough via Preston, Blackburn, Accrington and Burnley was again cancelled.
First North Western put extra carriages on its Blackpool to Colne service.
The Clitheroe and Blackburn to Manchester services were running normally.
A second two-day strike is also planned for February 5 and 6.
Details of trains have been posted at stations and are available on the train inquiry website www.nationalrail.co.uk.
