CHORLEY Lynx are in Cup action tomorrow when they take on amateurs Redhill in the third round of the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Challenge Cup at Victory Park, kick off 3pm.

Over the years Lynx have a poor record against amateur opposition in cup competitions. Last season they were defeated by Woolston and in previous years they have fallen to Thatto Heath and Leigh East.

In last weekend's league game at Hoodlum, Lynx suffered a disappointing 34-2 reversal, never recovering from conceding two tries in the opening three minutes and although they did have good spells of pressure they found the Oldham defence in outstanding form.

Coach Graeme West will be concentrating on trying to ensure that the Lynx start well and keep the pressure on the visitors throughout the game.

His plans have been hit with injuries to Ian Hayes and Leroy Rivett who are both struggling to be fit.

Ian Talbot is still a few weeks away from full fitness but Alan Redicliffe should be fit to return after missing the Oldham game.

Redhill are currently lying third in the First Division of the National Conference, last weekend they had an excellent 14-4 victory at Shaw Cross Sharks where the main difference between the sides was their ability to take their chances.

They have been one of the stronger amateur sides for many years and they will come to Victory Park with high hopes of creating an upset.

Lynx will have to watch the likes of Neil Bennett who scored four tries in the last round against Thornhill and free scoring full back Steve Embling who scored one try and kicked three goals in last weekend's victory.

Lynx will select from: Watts, Hayes, Jones, Smith, Rivett, Ramsdale, Duffy, Street, Roden, Parry, Harrison, Causey, Bloor, Patel, Kilgannon, Bellamy, Grundy, Redicliffe, Killock, Gardner, Wilcock, Prest.
