IMPROVED access for pedestrians at Todmorden railway station is to be made by Calderdale Council.
Details of the proposals were given to the council's environment committee by senior engineer Steve Wood.
He said: "Pedestrian facilities at the entrance to Todmorden railway station are presently inadequate.
"It is therefore proposed to constructe a new length of footway outside the main station entrance and install a pedestrian refuge island in Rise Lane.
"New traffic orders would be made, including a no-waiting restriction on both sides of Rise Lane."
Mr Wood says the draft order is subject to wide-ranging consultation, and he invites the council to submit any comments.
