POLICE were today waiting to speak to two men with stab wounds as part of an investigation into a fight.

A man who was stabbed near the Blackamoor pub at the junction of Stopes Brow and Roman Road in Lower Darwen on Friday evening is in a stable condition at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.

The 32-year-old local man was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary with stab wounds to his chest.

Lancashire Police Force incident manager Stuart Coates said that the alleged offender, a 42-year-old local man, who surrendered to police after initially refusing to leave his house, was being detained under police guard at Burnley General Hospital. He also has a stab wound to his chest and will not be interviewed until he is discharged.

Insp Coates added that neither of the men's lives were in danger and that the two men were known to each other.
