IWOULD like to thank all the readers who responded to my appeal for the old hymn tune, Shepherd (LET, January 21). I had more than 40 calls, many on my answering machine and some I spoke to personally.
The appeal certainly made people dig out their old hymn books and, in some cases, revived childhood memories.
I have received a copy of the hymn tune, plus several others which I will send to Nora Peach in Canada, who was anxious to trace the hymn her father used to play when she was a girl in Oswaldtwistle.
BARBARA RIDING (Mrs), Fairhope Court, Blackburn.
