A WALMERSLEY family are hoping to catch another glimpse of Nessie, their missing puppy, who has still not surfaced despite a mysterious telephone call saying she would be returned.
Now they are offering a £50 reward and no questions asked.
The 18-month-old salt and pepper coloured schnauzer went missing after walkers left a gate open at Bank Top Farm, Springside Road, where the Parry family live.
That evening they received a call from someone saying that they had the dog and that she would be returned. Nessie has the farm telephone number on her collar. But no-one appeared and the family are still waiting.
Mum Carol says daughters Louise (16) and Amy (13) are anxious for the return of the puppy, which was bought for her husband Paul's 50th birthday.
She said: "Whoever phoned up said that they had the puppy and would bring her back.
"They were kind enough to ring, but still haven't shown up, which seems a bit strange. Perhaps she ran away from them too.
"We got her from Scotland and she is a little monster, which is why we called her Nessie.
"All we want is to have our dog back and for whoever rang to get back in touch with us."
Anyone knowing the dog's whereabouts should contact the family on 797 9047.
