THE County Cups may be treated with derision by many but Leigh RMI will be looking to field a full-strength side when they visit Accrington Stanley in tonight's quarter-final.

The first game in Leigh's current run of five unbeaten was in the last 16 of the Lancashire Trophy when Rossendale were beaten in extra-time at Hilton Park and that battling, if not graceful, performance is widely credited to be the start of RMI's renaissance of late.

"It's a game that we want to win and therefore I'll be fielding a pretty strong side", admitted Steve Waywell. "We have not got a back log of fixtures at the moment and I feel that we have a great chance to progress in both this and the FA Trophy this season. I will make changes if need be but I see no need to break our recent rhythm at the moment."

The Crown Ground clash is likely to be a tough one for the Railwaymen as Stanley are flying high in the Unibond Premier League but Leigh themselves have an attack to be proud of having watched them amass an astounding sixteen goals in their last five games. The hard work of Tony Black, Dino Maamria and Michael Twiss has been well supplemented by midfielders Ridings and Kielty and they are likely to pose a great threat as the Railwaymen look to earn their second semi-final in three seasons.

RMI's only doubt for the game surrounds the fitness of Ian Monk, who picked up a groin strain in Saturday's comprehensive defeat of Northwich Victoria. NON LEAGUE PREVIEW for Tuesday January 29

Jamie Taylor returns after suspension tonight for Ramsbottom United in the Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy quarter final clash at home to big rivals Clitheroe. In the NWCL Division One Atherton LR entertain Curzon Ashton whilst Atherton Colls travel to Glossop North End and in Division Two Daisy Hill are at Chadderton.
