THE cause of death of a man found collapsed in a park remains a mystery.
Sean Russell, 32, of Gisburn Road, Barnoldswick, was found to have died in Burnley General Hospital on Saturday shortly after being taken there from Victory Park, Barnoldswick, where he was found collapsed by the entrance to the pavilion.
A post-mortem examination held yesterday was inconclusive.
Det Sgt Peter Simm said they were waiting for the results of toxicology tests on samples sent to Manchester University. The results could take up to two weeks to obtain.
Mr Russell's death is not being treating as suspicious.
Det Sgt Simm said: "He lived with his partner and a little son born in 2000. He is described as a loving family man."
Mr Russell worked at Ouzledale Foundry, Barnoldswick.
