ITALIAN misfit Ciccio Grabbi has fired a parting shot at Blackburn in Italian sportspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old striker, who joined Rovers from Ternana for £6.75m last summer, has just joined lowly Serie B club Messina on-loan until the end of the season.

Grabbi scored just twice during his disappointing spell at Ewood Park.

But he has accused his team mates of freezing him out, and blamed manager Graeme Souness for playing him out of position during his unhappy spell in England.

"I've just spent six months locked up in my house," blasted Grabbi.

"I never managed to get used to Blackburn, and neither did my wife.

"My problems were with the squad -- I felt like a stranger among them.

"There were no unpleasant episodes, but indifference can be worse than open hostility.

"I tried to speak a bit of English -- I couldn't have done more.

"At least if you have an argument, you can clear the air.

"My only friend, if you can call him that, was Turkish player Tugay.

"But Blackburn is nothing like London, and my social life was zero.

"It's not easy for an Italian to get involved in things up there.

"Souness played me as a central striker, although I was used to playing on the left wing.

"My situation was not as dramatic as that of Patrizio Billio at Dundee (who has been beaten up in the street and dropped from the first-team squad)."

Grabbi did, however, admit that Souness had done his best to help him feel at home.

"Souness tried to help me in every way," he said.

"It was not the club's fault that I could not settle, neither were the fans to blame."
