AROUND 40 youngsters attended an open night at Darwen Community Centre to find out more about what Blackburn with Darwen Council's youth service had to offer.
Youth worker Tony Parkinson said the event gave them the chance to showcase a range of activities from canoeing and sailing to making electronic music and video films. There was also the chance to enrol on a Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and the community centre demonstrated its cyber cafe.
Mr Parkinson said any young person in the Year 8 and upwards age group could get involved in activities by coming along to the Senior Youth Club which is held at the community centre in Knott Street on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
