PROUD parents Maggie and Hughie Kelly didn't just look on at their daughter's wedding -- they said "I do" too.
And anyone who has problems remembering family birthdays and anniversaries should take a leaf out of the Kellys' book -- and set as many events as possible to coincide on the same day!
Maggie and Hughie Kelly, both 40, tied the knot in a register office service 24 years ago then four years later their daughter Emma came along on the same day.
On Saturday the couple renewed their wedding vows as Emma married her partner, Chris Garrity.
Which means that next year the couple will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary while Emma celebrates her first wedding anniversary and her 21st birthday.
Speaking about the day, Maggie, a nurse at Blackburn Royal Infirmary, said: "It was a very emotional day.
"We had planned to renew our vows in church on our silver wedding anniversary but didn't want to take attention away from Emma on her 21st birthday.
"So we set the date for our 24th anniversary instead and then when she and Chris decided to get married we agreed to combine the two and celebrate together.
"It was mindblowing -- absolutely fantastic." Maggie and Hughie, a porter at Queens Park Hospital, first met when her brother, David Rigby, who was Hughie's best friend, married Hughie's sister, Brenda, who was Maggie's best friend.
The pair, who live in Mulberry Avenue, hit it off and wed in Blackburn register office in a civil service paid for by Hughie's mother Doreen, now 65.
Maggie, given away by her father, Eddie, wore a calf-length brown and cream dress.
They had a reception at the Polish Club, Blackburn, complete with three-tier fruit cake with white icing. There was no honeymoon -- they couldn't afford one -- and the total cost of the wedding was £800.
Times have changed and the reception following the joint service on Saturday cost than ten times that amount.
This time a full church service was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Holmbrook Close, followed by a reception at The Observatory Hotel, Old Bank Lane, for a total of more than £8,000.
Emma, 20, a full-time mum, and Chris, 19, a factory worker, then left for a weekend in Blackpool while Maggie and Hughie looked after their eight-month-old daughter Leah.
Emma, of Tynwall Road, Blackburn, said: "Your wedding day is obviously a very emotional day anyway but it was all the more special because my mum and dad were there celebrating too.
"And now we'll share the same anniversary which is also amazing."
