JUST like Hazel Hamer (Letters, January 24), I long for the good old days to return. Four million out of work -- all the backbone of British industry crushed.

Miners, steelworkers, car workers on the scrap heap; 15 per cent interest rates, not to mention all the things listed in her letter: the result of actions started by the Iron Lady (imported iron now).

Ah well, heady days! Having replaced old Tories with new Tories, is it any wonder we're getting more of the same. We deserve all we get -- dunderheads.
