AS a born and bred Lancastrian living in exile in Nottingham, I feel nothing but disgust and disbelief that the elected councillors of Lancashire are even considering changing the emblem which has been the pride of our county for the last 600 or 700 years (LET, January 26).
Our forefathers fought under this banner, taking on the pride of Yorkshire and defeating them and now, at a stroke, our so-called county leaders may alter this mighty emblem. How those White Rose inhabitants would love this.
Thank goodness Blackburn Rovers, our pride of the Premiership team, still has the Red Rose as its emblem and will continue to do so.
