REGARDING the telephone mast disguised as a pine tree (LET, January 24), instead of complaining about this 'stealth' tree, it's about time people stood back and thought properly for once.
Most of us have mobile phones and to make reception better we need relay masts.
Looking at the pictures you published, I actually thought the problem was with the roots from the tree and it was not until I began to read your report I found that the 'tree' was a mobile phone mast.
There's more damage being done to our wonderful countryside and towns due to vehicles, yet we all use them, but nobody is complaining.
It is time we congratulated Orange for trying to hide a phone mast by erecting this imitation tree.
A WORDEN (Mr), Worden Lane, Withnell, Chorley.
