EWOOD chief Graeme Souness today vowed to ring the changes ahead of Saturday's 'monster' clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

After a depressing run of nine defeats from their last 11 league games, Rovers travel to the capital desperate for a win to ease the pressure at the foot of the Premiership.

And Souness has revealed he is ready to bring back veteran defensive duo Craig Short and Henning Berg as part of a major reshuffle in what has suddenly become one of the biggest games of the season so far.

"I will make changes for the Fulham game which will include bringing back both Craig and Henning," said Souness.

"The two young lads have done well for me over the last month or so but this isn't the ideal situation to start trying to form a new partnership so it's time to turn to more experience because we've got to start winning games.

"I'm sick and tired of people saying we've played well without having anything to show for it.

"I'd much rather I could stand up and say 'we played poorly today but still won the game.'

"As I said at the weekend, that doesn't mean we are going to start changing our style but what we have got to do is tighten up all over the park and, when I say that, I'm not pointing the finger at specific individuals.

"We need to start defending better all over the pitch, from our two front men back, because that's how you win football matches.

"I still believe we are just short of being a very good side but now's the time for us to prove that."

With Garry Flitcroft ruled out through suspension, Souness confirmed David Dunn will be fit to return in midfield.

But, as I understand it, Keith Gillespie is unlikely to win a recall on the right because the coaching staff believe they cannot afford to play with two out-and-out wingers in the current situation.
