IWOULD like to thank everyone who has supported the East Lancashire Hospice, which has now reopened at Park Lee.
The many events held on our behalf were truly magnificent and helped to raise the £1.3million we needed to build the new day therapy centre.
Now, our area has a first-class facility to help people suffering from terminal or life-threatening illness.
However, with this opening comes a cost.
We are now responsible, as a charity, for running costs in excess of £300,000 a year.
Every penny has to some from voluntary contributions and donations. This is why I am asking for the continued support of your readers. Without the money we will not be able to run the services so desperately needed by so many people.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone -- group, company, school or organisation -- who would like to help us raise this money and I can be contacted on 01254 660900.
Your local hospice needs you.
Please help in anyway you can.
