STAN Ternent sprang a surprise by leaving out skipper Ian Cox but he stuck with 4-4-2, Kevin Ball playing alongside Arthur Gnohere in central defence.
Glen Little and Paul Weller returned in midfield for Paul Cook and the injured Alan Moore.
When Blake replaced Graham Branch Ian Moore dropped to right midfield as Little enjoyed a roaming role.
Vialli went 4-4-2 and looked to use wide men Jermain Pennant and Lee Cook as often as possible.
