THERE is still a faint hope that a famous Leigh band will earn a reprieve.
Leigh Silver Band stalwart Harold Roberts tells us that trustees have decided to put instruments in store.
Mr Roberts, of Dunham Grove, Leigh, said: "The current position is although no pone has yet come forward with a definite proposal to keep Leigh Silver Band going -- or a band in town -- there have been some favourable comments in that direction.
"Although the band has ceased to function at present it has been the trustees' decision to store all instruments for a period up to October this year which should be time enough for any positive developments."
