SHOP staff were threatened with a machete and bundled into a back room by raiders who escaped with a small amount of cash.
The Tuesday night robbery occurred at shortly after 10.30pm at Long Lane Stores in Hindley Green.
Two men, both wearing balaclavas entered the shop armed with what is described as a machete. One of them threatened two store workers and forced them into the back room of the shop while the other stole a small amount of cash from the till.
The men then ran off towards Alders Green Road.
The man with the machete is described as white aged between 20 and 30, and about 5ft10in tall. He wore a dark blue top with horizontal stripes.
No one was injured during the incident.
