ARTWORK from out of Africa is now on display at Claremont Library
The 3D models, paintings and drawings have been created by students on the Access to Independence course at Blackpool and The Fylde College. They were previously on display at Layton Library where they received an overwhelming response from the local community.
"We enjoyed having the display here, it really brightened up the place. We were very sad to see it go," said Lynne Scarles, Layton branch librarian.
Many of the students studying on the Access to Independence course at the College have severe learning difficulties. The course aims to teach the students basic living skills and offer them help and advice on becoming independent individuals.
Outreach worker for Blackpool Library, Martin O'Callaghan, and Norma Taite from the School of Access and Continuing Education at Blackpool and The Fylde College, have helped to organise the project. After the work has been displayed at Claremont Library the exhibition will be moving to Blackpool Library.
