RADCLIFFE BOROUGH have the chance to take an even firmer grip on an automatic promotion place when they take on Ossett Town at Stainton Park tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).
However, there is a doubt about the match going ahead as Ossett may request a postponement following the sudden death of their assistant manager
Town are immediately below Boro in third place in the UniBond League First Division table, but they already trail Kevin Glendon's men by seven points, with just one game in hand.
Harrogate Town look to have the championship pretty much wrapped up, for although they are on the same number of points as Boro at the top of the table, 50, they have no less than five games in hand on them.
And while Glendon insists Town are not going to win all those games, they are not going to lose all of them either.
It's a massive game for Ossett. A win would put them just four points behind Boro and right back in with a chance of automatic promotion. Defeat would virtually write them off as they would be a massive ten points behind the top two.
Boro will welcome back midfield man Eamon Elliott after his one-match ban ruled him out of last week's 2-0 win at Witton.
Richard Battersby will still be sidelined though as he serves the second game of a three-match suspension.
Ossett manager Gary Brook has swooped to strengthen his squad once again ahead of a hectic last few months of the season with the signing of forward Carl Fothergill. Brook acted when the 22-year-old front man was released by UniBond Premier Division side Frickley Athletic after he lost his place in their first team following the departure of manager Steve Richards.
Fothergill re-joined Frickley this summer after a spell playing in the Conference with Kettering Town and has also played at this level with Gainsborough Trinity and Stocksbridge Park Steels after starting his career with Worsbrough Bridge and Pontefract Colls.
After scoring eight goals for Frickley this season, Fothergill was a surprising casualty of Richards' departure, as he was frozen out of the Westfield Lane line-up following the arrival of Leroy Chambers.
Fothergill briefly followed Richards to NCEL club Goole AFC, but his ambition to continue playing at UniBond level has seen him arrive at Ingfield.
Fothergill adds an extra dimension to the Town front line and can also operate in midfield.
Brook is also hoping to have a new man on the left-side of his midfield by the time Ossett arrive at Stainton Park on Saturday.
Town haven't looked back since transfer-listing a trio of players back in mid-December. Midfielder Matty Smithard, centre back Bernard Aspinall and top scorer Scott Jackson were all listed prior to a run that saw Town lose just once in six games.
All three are now off the list, but 16-goal Jackson looks likely to be out for at least another month as he faces the prospect of a hernia operation.
Ossett's Lebanese international Wael Nazha will be keeping a close eye on his watch on Saturday morning as he looks to get back in favour for the game at Radcliffe.
The 26-year-old striker, who has hit 20 goals for his country, was benched for the 2-2 home draw with Ashton United last week by disciplinarian Brook after arriving 20 minutes late.
