POLICE escorted an ambulance ferrying a seriously injured motorcyclist to hospital after a road accident at the weekend.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the collision between a Toyota Corolla and a 1,300cc Suzuki motorbike on Sunday afternoon (Feb 3).
The accident happened at 4.10pm on Pilkington Way in Radcliffe. Police closed the dual-carriageway for a time.
The motorcycle rider, a 28-year-old man from Radcliffe, suffered "serious" head injuries and was taken to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment. His condition is described as serious.
The driver of the Toyota, a 66-year-old man also from Radcliffe, was uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact Bury traffic unit on 856 8075.
