ONE joyrider was killed and his three friends were seriously injured when their stolen car crashed into a shop.
The dead man was Bradley Cuthbertson (19) of, Hilton Street, Higher Broughton. The other are all from Salford.
The Ford Orion car, which had been reported stolen, was split in two when it careered out of control in Bury Old Road, Prestwich, and smashed into a bollard and a parked Rover car before ploughing through the display windows of Ziggy's Videos and Yaffe's hardware stores on Tuesday (Feb 5) at 11.30pm.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital but died a short time later from his injuries. The three other joyriders suffered horrific injuries and are currently being treated at North Manchester General Hospital and Fairfield Hospital in Bury.
A 16-year-old youth broke both arms and legs, a 19-year-old fractured his shoulder and another 16-year-old youth sustained a head injury.
Police have launched an investigation into the crash and criminal charges could follow against the surviving youths.
