FORMER Blackburn and Fulham defender Tony Gale thinks the Cottagers can exploit the one weakness in Rovers' armoury - the defence.

London-born Gale was a squad player for Rovers in the1994/95 season but intially started his career at Craven Cottage, spending five years there before moving onto West Ham.

He admits to being impressed with the current Blackburn squad but he's still tipping mid-table Fulham to claim the points tomorrow - although he remains confident Rovers will avoid the drop.

"It is going to be a difficult game," he said. "Blackburn have good strikers in Matt Jansen and Andy Cole and I don't believe they will end up having relegation problems because they will score goals.

"If they have a weakness it's at the back."

Fulham, although in mid-table, are still looking over their shoulders but Gale reckons they have enough quality to stay out of trouble.

"Blackburn are fourth from bottom but they're only seven points behind Fulham so a defeat for the Whites tomorrow would put Blackburn only four points behind them - then everybody will start to worry about relegation.

"I wouldn't worry though. The bottom three sides aren't going to be able to pick up enough points on a consistent basis in order to get anywhere near Fulham."

He continued: "Both Blackburn and Fulham have adapted pretty well to life in the Premiership. Perhaps Blackburn have got a little pre-occupied with their run in the Worthington Cup but there's not that much of a difference between the two sides.

"I think Fulham are the better side and will finish higher. I certainly hope they will because I've got a few bets running with some friends from Blackburn.

"I'm going to go for a Fulham win by a single goal -1-0 or 2-1 - but I didn't get my last two predictions right."
