BURY'S Skipton Building Society is making a sterling effort for the elderly.
In common with other Skipton centres, the Bury branch in Market Street is asking its customers, existing and new, to bring in their now worthless European currency.
The Society is raising money for the Age Concern Fight the Freeze foreign coin appeal.
Around £3,000 has already been raised throughout Skipton's 80 branches.
There is still time to donate your old European currency coins as the appeal will run until the end of the month.
Cash raised will help old people pay fuel bills or install heating and insulation.
