A HINDLEY school has been given a glowing report by OFSTED inspectors.
Hindley Junior and Infant School in Argyle Street is said to give children a "very good start to their education". Standards have continued to rise since the school's last inspection five years ago.
Reports on the 200-pupil school said: "This is an effective and improving school that celebrates its strengths and works very hard to address its weaknesses. The quality of teaching is good and contributes in great measure to the pupils' positive attitudes to school, and ensuring that, through well-structured learning, they reach the highest standards."
Headteacher Anne Aykroyd said: "Everyone involved with the school is very pleased with the findings of this report and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, pupils, parents and governors. It shows that Hindley Junior and Infant School is committed to achieving the highest standards and we will continue to strive for excellence."
