A NEW task group is being set up to ensure that Lancaster's public toilets are up to scratch.
The city council's community services review board set up the group after a report highlighted problems of vandalism, graffiti, missing equipment and wear and tear, which blight the area's conveniences.
Review board chairman, Cllr Jon Barry, said: "The district's public toilets are clearly in a poor state of repair and they have been neglected for far too long.
"This cannot continue and I am hopeful that members of the task group will come up with ways to improve matters.
"I am sure that the task group will also very much welcome suggestions from the public."
