THEATRE-goers can choose from a wide range of productions in Darwen Library Theatre's spring programme.

From Saturday, February 16, there is entertainment for all the family as Applause Productions stage The Ugly Duckling, based on Hans Christian Anderson's tale.

The play runs at 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Ring the theatre for ticket availability.

An evening of music by young people from across the borough is being held on Wednesday, February 20. Among the groups performing from the Music Centres of Excellence will be the Big Band and Steel Band.

And on February 23 the 42-piece Jam Factory continue their unique series of concerts, members of the band include Rossendale -based guitarist Mike Walker and Clitheroe saxophonist Iain Dixon who has recorded with artists such as Sting and Joni Mitchell.

And at the end of the month, 28 Spike Theatre are performing a premier of the Man Who Cracked. Set in a world of television networks, the show draws its inspirations from films such as Quiz Show, Pleasantville and the Truman Show. It is being staged on February 28 and March 1 and 2 at 7.30pm.
