DO you get those days when you get a craving for something?
You can have a fridge full of food, your cupboards can be overloaded and yet you must have that one particular delicacy.
This week the pizza craving struck -- not for one of those flat frozen numbers, but for a freshly-prepared feast.
Caesar's, opposite King George's Hall, was my chosen destination, impressing me with its clean frontage -- that and the fact that it was open at teatime!
A wide range of pizzas are available in both thin crust and deep pan form and in three sizes, ranging from nine-inch to small wagon wheel.
I selected a nine-inch, deep pan pepperoni at £3.70 and then watched my delicacy being prepared in front of my eyes.
Just over 10 minutes later it was ready, and a fine pizza it was too. The cheese and tomato, which are the staple ingredients of any pizza, were hot, tasty and the cheese stringy but not rubbery. The pepperoni was suitably spicy -- and, as an indication of the quality, the box wasn't swimming in grease.
Deep pan pizzas can sometimes be far too heavy and leave you with that uncomfortably full feeling but this was light and tasty.
All in all, Caesar's conquered my cravings very nicely indeed.
