CHORLEY Lynx don't aim to be the fall guys in the Challenge Cup's fourth round tomorrow, despite the fact that they face the French national champions.
Union Treiziste Catalane, replete with a clutch of French international stars, are at Victory Park and the Northern Ford Premiership club are hoping for a bumper turn-out for a very attractive tie.
"It's a match we are relishing for more reasons than one," said Lynx coach Graeme West, whose Cup experiences were second to none during his playing days at Wigan.
"We are improving every week and I feel we can give them a game to remember.''
The Lynx have a problem at full-back as Australian youngester Mike Watts is ruled out with concussion after sustaining a head injury in last weekend's home 40-28 NFP defeat at the hands of Hull KR.
West may switch half-back Chris Ramsdale to the last line of defence, with Simon Smith moving in at centre and Alan Redicliffe coming in on the wing for former Leeds Rhinos star Leroy Rivett, who has returned to Warrington Wolves following his short on-loan stay.
"I'm afraid UTC are something of an unknown quantity," said West.
"We understand that they have five or maybe six French internationals in the side, but that's about all we know.''
It leaves West to concentrate all his efforts on fine-tuning his Lynx players ahead of the game.
