BLACKBURN is set to feel the noise for the second year running after plans were unveiled for a massive charity pop concert in the town.
An application to Blackburn with Darwen Council is aimed at repeating last year's 25,000 capacity concert at Ewood Park, this time on Sunday, June 23.
The event must be licensed by the authority.
It will last around five hours and will raise money for the Help a Local Child charity for disadvantaged children in Lancashire.
Last year's event attracted some of the biggest British pop acts, including Atomic Kitten, A1, S Club 7 and the now defunct 5ive.
Instead of being a one-off concert, this year's event will be part of a nationwide tour taking in all the areas served by radio stations owned by Emap.
Bosses of Rock FM, one of the applicants with Blackburn Rovers, hope that will result in more top 10 stars performing.
A spokesman said: "Last year's event was a massive success and sold out.
"We think this year's will be bigger and better than last year, although it will follow a similar format and be aimed at families and teenagers.
"The concert will feature a number of well known chart artists and bands performing in the stadium."
