A SKATEBOARD, computer manual and pushchair were among the more unusual items found in Whitewell Brook during a clean up.
The Mersey Basin Trust and volunteers from the Whitewell Bottom Youth and Community Centre and the local community got kitted out with gloves, litter pickers and tabards to clean the water course.
Community officer for the Mersey Basin Trust Julia Gravestock said: "It is amazing how much rubbish you can actually find once you start.
"I was really impressed by how hard the whole group worked."
Nasreen Akhtar, youth and community worker, said it was a good day despite having to brave the weather but we collected a lot of rubbish.
The clean up was organised as part of the Mersey Basin Trust's streamcare programme and it was supported by United Utilities. After the clean up a barbecue was held.
