CHANGING the county council's Red Rose emblem (LET, January 26), will impose upon the budget for new notepaper, forms with new letter headings, new motifs on the vehicles and the cost of signwriting.
It would be much better to scrap the idea of changing the Red Rose and the cash saved could be directed towards the cost of upgrading the 19 threatened homes for the elderly in East Lancashire (LET, February 1).
The human rights of their residents are in question and the county council could be acting illegally. This should be made known to the European Commission.
