GIVING themselves bags of exposure!
That's Bury Photographic Society whose annual exhibition is now up and running.
And visitors will be able to see the cream of the output of Society members who have well and truly put the long-established club in the spotlight.
The exhibition showcases the photographic expertise of its members with scores of mono and colour pictures on show as well as a collection of slides.
There are a number of individual sections which illustrate just how imaginative and expressive camera buffs can be when it comes to capturing pictures within a particular category.
Contrasting sharply with the work of club members are those entered by young novices.
For a number of prints on show were submitted to the Junior Photo Show 2002. This is a competition which the Society has run for schoolchildren and students throughout the borough.
There are two age groups, one for youngsters aged up to 13 and another section for those aged 13-17.
Society president Mr John Scotson said: "Hopefully, the entrants will enjoy the experience enough to prompt them to take further interest in photography in either its traditional or more modern digital form."
Bury's mayor and mayoress, Councillor Paul Nesbit and Mrs Shirley Nesbit visited the exhibition and were shown around by Society officials.
The event is being staged at Bury Art Gallery and Museum in the town's Moss Street until March 2.
Mr Scotson added: "Members of the Society have worked very hard over the last 12 months to produce the work."
The slides will be shown on Saturday afternoons during the period of the exhibition.
