ROVERS Under 17s were involved in an exciting finale in their clash at Coventry in the FA Academy Premier League at the weekend.
Despite a late show from Coventry, Rovers still found time to make their chance count and extend their unbeaten league run to seven games.
Earlier in encounter, which was played in windswept conditions and gale force winds, Rovers star Jemal Johnson saw an effort cleared off the line while the Ewood side were twice denied by Coventry's keeper but it remained a stalemate until the final minute.
Then the Sky Blues made the breakthrough and thought they had secured the victory.
But Rovers came straight back and Carl Francis struck home the equaliser after good build up play by Danny Whelan and Garry Hawkins.
The Under 19s had less success, losing 2-1 at Coventry. The Sky Blues took the lead from the penalty spot.
Rovers made it all square in a goalmouth with David Willis getting the final touch.
The visitors had long spells of possession in the second half but were caught on the break when Coventry stole the win.
