HALIFAX boss Alan Little today added Rovers striker Marc Richards to his squad for the vital relegation clash against York City.
Richards has signed a month's loan deal with the Shaymen from Rovers and Little has welcomed the increased competition for places his arrival will bring.
He said: "I am delighted to get someone like Marc and more importantly he wants to come here.
"If he does come into the team then one of the existing strikers will have to go on the bench but everyone understands we have to start scoring goals."
Little is all too aware of the importance of the game against York and added: "We have to look at the pack above York, such as teams like Torquay and Carlisle and try to close the gap on those."
Little will be without Paul Stoneman as he starts the first of a two-match suspension, while Matt Clarke will undergo a late fitness test on his hamstring.
York have been given a massive boost with the news that former Rovers goalkeeper Alan Fettis is available.
Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy had considered calling on Fettis to replace the injured Roy Carroll for their friendly against Poland, but has taken the importance of City's game into account.
McIlroy said: "I had thought about bringing in Alan but York have a six-pointer on Tuesday and I thought it was best to leave him."
