RESIDENTS of Burnley are being asked to comment on the new Local Plan which will influence the way the town is developed over the next ten years.
A workshop and forum about the new Local Plan is being organised by the Sustainability Action Partnership on Thursday, February 28 at the Voluntary Sector Resource Centre, Yorkshire Street.
"This is your chance to learn how to influence the way Burnley develops over the next ten years," said Kim Coverdale of SAP.
"If you are fed up with fighting plans at the last minute or not happy with the number of houses being built on green field sites then why not go along to the workshop and forum?
"The Local Plan is an extremely important document that affects people who live and work in Burnley.
"We have organised a workshop where anybody can learn how they can influence the Plan and, therefore, the development of Burnley.
"Once the Plan is adopted it is very difficult to change so it is very important for local people to be involved," she added
People at the forum will get the chance to meet local planners and a representative from Planning Aid, a voluntary organisation that puts planning into plain English.
Visitors will also be able to view a copy of the map showing how Burnley could develop in the next decade.
