OUTLINE plans to build nine detached houses in the grounds of Marsden Cottage, in Higher Reedley Road, Brierfield, will be considered by members of the Brierfield and Reedley Committee tonight.
The application by Chattan Developments was deferred at the January meeting of the committee for a site visit.
Permission for nine detached houses in the disused quarry at the end of Heather Close was granted in March last year but it is now proposed to continue the estate road approved for the development down in to the extensive grounds of Marsden Cottage and to develop this land with a further nine houses.
The plans have been amended to minimise the impact on trees. Brierfield Town Council expressed concern that the proposal amounted to overdevelopment but council planners have recommended the plans for approval.
They said the proposal would not have an unreasonable adverse effect on the privacy or the outlook of any neighbouring houses.
