CAMPAIGNERS who are fighting to keep Cravenside residential home in Barnoldswick open have already collected more than 2,000 signatures for their petition.
Shopkeepers, residents and councillors in Barnoldswick and Earby have joined forces to save the home from possible closure.
The home, which currently has 43 residents and employs 40 staff, has been earmarked as part of a county-wide programme of closures.
A meeting of relatives and the public will be held tomorrow to discuss the setting up of a working group, which will co-ordinate any action taken to protest about Lancashire County Council's plans to close Cravenside.
During the four-month consultation period in the lead up to the proposed closure of the home, campaigners are hoping to continue gathering signatures and are hoping to encourage people to write objection letters to their MP.
Relatives of people living at Cravenside will also attend a meeting at the residential home, in Lower North Avenue, on Thursday to ask any questions they may have.
