RIBBLE Valley residents are being urged to embrace recycling in a bid to help the environment.
A community conference is being held at 6pm today at St James's CE Primary School, in Greenacre Street, Clitheroe, to encourage local groups, schools and organisations to generate income and save money through recycling.
The conference has been set up by the council's waste management officer Peter McGeorge, who has identified local businesses and services which can provide a collection and payment service for aluminium cans, foil and textiles.
Presentations will be given by REthink-Waste in Lancashire and by the LWS Lancashire Environmental Fund.
The council has also had a positive response to plans for a recycling site.
