AN 80-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a broken arm after a thief grabbed her shoulder bag as she walked in a quiet side street in Crawshawbooth.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack at 12.30pm yesterday.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barlow said: "The woman had been walking in Major Street and saw a white saloon type car pass her. When she walked into Minor Street the vehicle must have turned round and followed her."
A man got out of the car, took hold of her bag, pushed her to the ground and made off.
The man is described as white, aged 25 or 26, 5ft 8ins, of medium build, with short, straight blond/fair hair, clean shaven, wearing a white round neck T-shirt.
Stolen was a grey shoulder bag with handles at the top, a black purse, bus pass, Boots store card, Marks and Spencer store card, two £10 notes, keys and tins of food, together worth £43.40.
DI Barlow said: "There were two men in the car and I am appealing for anyone who was in Crawshawbooth at the time to contact me with details of any cars they saw in the area."
