PLANNERS of a multi-million pound redevelopment of Rawtenstall town centre are waiting for the district valuer to put a figure on the town hall.
Plans would include demolition of the building, which would be replaced by a new town hall constructed on first floor level with shops underneath and part of it using the first floor of the existing shopping centre.
The bus station would be moved to the opposite side of Bacup Road and the bus depot and station site redeveloped for retail use and car parking.
Two development companies are working together on plans for the new-look centre, which is hoped, would attract national shop chains.
