WITH Blackburn with Darwen Council's stance on gritting during the cold snap being: "We have been out gritting" (Really?), well let's look at value for money.
Do we, as a community, think that the council used a budget of £330,000 efficiently on not getting the roads safe? Do we think that to try and make them safe next winter the council needs a budget of £476,190?
Quite plainly, the answer is: No.
If it wasn't so annoying, I could split my sides laughing at the situation as I think we already pay enough and when you look at how much gritting was actually needed over the cold snap it would probably equate to three or four weeks' work at best.
What really needs to happen is the council get themselves sorted out and stop wasting our money or meaningless bits of modern art and lame excuses.
A HAYDEN (Mr), Westminster Road, Darwen.
